Fairtrade options are now available for fruit, tea, coffee, chocolate and even flowers, but one company is now producing Fairtrade bird food.

Gardman has introduced the first Fairtrade wild bird feed onto the UK market.

Its Fairtrade Peanuts are offered in 1.5kg and 3kg bags and carry the Fairtrade Foundation's mark of approval, guaranteeing producers a fair price to cover the sustainable cost of production.

Producers also get additional premiums to facilitate investment in local infrastructure improvements such as education and provision of clean water.

Gardman stresses its fairtrade peanuts which make up the fairtrade bird food are not only sourced ethically, but are also of the highest quality, full of nutrition and energy. They meet the strict standards set by both the British Standards Authority (BSA) and British Trust for Ornithology (BTO).

To find out more about the fairtrade bird food contact the company 01406 372237 or e-mail sales@gardman.co.uk
