Moral action against arms sales

By Press Office
August 21, 2013

Commenting on plans by Christian groups to disrupt a London arms fair, the Rev Dr Keith Hebden, an associate of the religion and society think-tank Ekklesia, said:

"Real, systemic and ethical change has always been sparked by prophetic witness, usually at some personal cost to the compassionate activist.

"There are deep moral issues at stake here. Christians taking nonviolent direct action will do so only after careful thought and prayer, and will be prepared to accept the consequences."

Dr Hebden, who is a Church of England priest, is currently awaiting trial for an anti-drones protest at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire.
