By Press Office
March 4, 2015

As the first of a developing series offering space for conversation and reflection on how we live together, the Hurtado Jesuit Centre will be looking at topical economic, political and cultural issues in the light of principles and values from Catholic social teaching that can be shared by people of faith or no faith.

The event, with Dr Patrick Riordan SJ of Heythrop College, will take place at the Hurtado Centre in Wapping, London E1W 2QT on Tuesday 24th March 2015, 5.00pm - 8.00pm and is entitled Minding our own Business: Our Common Goods

Dr Riordan is lecturer in political philosophy and author of two books on the Common Good. He will lay a foundation to establish some tools for engagement on future issues in the light of Catholic Social Teaching and as an aid to gaining some perspective on topics that are relevant in the forthcoming election debates. These sessions are focused on a central theme, with a specialist or contributions from local leaders, community
partners and action networks who share their expertise on the subject and offer those attending the opportunity to join in the discussion.

A light buffet will be available from 5.00pm, prior to the event.
