Book Launch: 'The Upside-Down Bible' by Symon Hill
Renowned writer Symon Hill's latest book, The Upside-Down Bible: what Jesus really said about money, sex and violence, is out on 26th November 2015.
Symon's book looks afresh at well-known stories in the Bible, asking what Jesus is really trying to say through them and challenging popular, often narrow, interpretations. Come prepared to be surprised, and to have your view of the Bible refreshed and your hope renewed.
This isn't just for Christians - the research for "The Upside-Down Bible" was done with people of all faith's and none and Symon's observations are relevant and interesting regardless of what you already believe.
The Fellowship of Reconciliation is proud to be hosting the Oxford leg of the launch tour, which will include a talk from Symon, plus the chance to buy signed copies of his book. There will be tea and coffee afterwards and plenty of time to chat with others.

What others have already said about "The Upside-Down Bible":
"...It dares to invite the reader to think for herself and be prepared to have her assumptions about Jesus, money, sex and violence turned upside-down. A must-read for anyone brave enough to explore Christianity’s radical roots.”
Rachel Mann, Poet-in-Residence and Minor Canon of Manchester Cathedral
“Symon turns traditional church interpretations of Jesus’s teachings on their head; offering a radical reinterpretation that connects Christ’s message to daily life, personal relationships and political struggles today.”
Peter Tatchell, human rights campaigner
“If you’re turned off by the Church but think Jesus might have been on to something – this is your book.... As always, Hill is contagiously on cue, fair and provocative.”
Mark Oakley, Canon Chancellor of St Paul’s Cathedral
