New government praised for 'solid start' on climate change
Christian Aid has praised the new Government for a solid start on climate change, as the Fifth Carbon Budget passed both Houses of Parliament less than a week after the new Prime Minister was appointed.

The lives and livelihoods of more than 60 million people around the world have been turned upside down by the extreme weather events linked to the El Niño phenomenon,the UN Secretary-General said yesterday, calling for a scaled-up, unprecedented response that goes beyond humanitarian action.
