Open Letter to Prime Minister opposing ESA cut

Simon Barrow

Abstract

Over 50 clergy, charity workers, academics and disability advocates - including Terry Waite and two bishops - have signed an open letter from the think-tank Ekklesia, in association with the Centre for Welfare Reform, calling on Prime Minister Theresa May to use her power to reverse a savage cut in Employment and Support Allowance impacting a large number of disabled and chronically sick people.

This letter from a range of public figures reminds the PM that the government's action is contrary to the Christian values she claims to espouse, and calls the cut, inherited from her predecessor in Number 10 Downing Street "cruel, unChristian and damaging."
