The UN Secretary-General has expresssed alarm at what seems to be a “dangerous escalation” in the crisis in Ukraine, as the Security Council held emergency talks on the latest developments.

The UN Security Council must extend the mandate of the peacekeeping mission to Western Sahara to monitor and protect human rights, an all-party group of British MPs said today.
