The Trussell Trust has released a report revealing how coronavirus has affected food bank use, with a huge rise in people needing to use a food bank in its network for the first time.
A coalition of charities, including Child Poverty Action Group , The Children’s Society, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, StepChange and Turn2us, is calling for funding for local authorities in England to ensure grants are quickly distributed to help people stay afloat as part of a temporary Coronavirus Emergency Income Support Scheme.
