A campaign by a group of four Christian denominations aims to change participants’ lifestyles by adopting one of six commitments to address climate change, for 40 days and then for life.
Jo Chamberlain's role will be to help parishes and dioceses to reduce their carbon footprint, prepare their buildings for the effects of climate change, and offer support to communities in times of crisis.
Carbon Smart has awarded Friends House, the central offices of Quakers in Britain, with a Gold Certification for reducing its carbon footprint by 29 per cent since 2009. Numerous green initiatives in Friends House led to this achievement, including using 100 per cent renewable energy and a zero waste to landfill policy.
