Join Ekklesia at Greenbelt: housing, war and peace, sexuality and the Bible

Ekklesia is delighted to be involved in more events and discussions than ever before at the 216 Greenbelt Festival, which brings Christians and others together to look at how the world is being, and can be, changed posively by arts, action, thinking and spirituality.

Talks and discussions to look out for this year are:

* Ekklesia associate and author Savitri Hensman is speaking at 11am on Saturday 27 August at the Treehouse on the Greenbelt Festival site She is featuring her acclaimed book Sexuality, Struggle and Saintliness: Same-Sex Love and the Church (http://www.ekklesia.co.uk/node/22613)

* Scrap the church?  With Nadia Bolz-Weber, Andrew Brown, Ekklesia's Savi Hensman, Lawrence Moore. Chaired by Steve Tomkins. Jesus proclaimed the Kingdom of God, we delivered the Church. Is this what he had in mind? Does the Church do the work of God or get in its way? What are our alternatives to continuing business as usual? In association with the URC. This panel is at the Pagoda at 5pm on Saturday 27 August.

* There will be a book signing with Savi Hensman at 6.30pm, after the above panel discussion. 

*  Ekklesia COO Virginia Moffatt will be speaking about her book 'Echo Hall', which offers fresh perspectives war, peace and Remembrance from women's experiences, at the Quaker Stand, GSource, at 3.30pm on Saturday 27 August.  

* A panel on housing (featuring Andrew Francis, the the editor of the Ekklesia book Foxes Have Holes: Christian reflections on housing need, will take place at 6.45pm at the Pagoda, Saturday 27 August, hosted by Virginia Moffatt. 

* Ekklesia associate and Peace Pledge Union coordinator Symon Hill, author of The Upside Down Bible, will speak at the Quaker stand, G Source, at 6pm on Saturday 27 August.

* On 28th August there will be a book signing with Symon Hill.

* At 5.30pm on 29 August Symon will be giving a further talk at 5pm.
