The Christian Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament will welcome a delegation of South Korean Christians to London next week as part of the 'Pilgrimage for Life and Peace to Europe'.
Members of the Bargn Nuri Community, based in South Korea, will join with Christian CND supporters at St Ethelburga’s in London on Monday 27 January 2020 for a morning conference. There will a chance to hear from members of the delegation about their life and work in South Korea, facing the threat of war between North Korea and the United States amidst rising tensions.
In the afternoon, the group will move to Westminster where they will meet MPs to share experiences and call on the government to take action towards peace on the Korean Peninsula.
The Bargn Nuri Community started the Life and Peace Pilgrimage in October 2017 when tensions over the Korean Peninsula were higher than ever before. Their aim is to achieve demilitarisation and permanent neutrality of the Korean Peninsula and expand life and peace communities in Northeast Asia.
Martin Tiller, Co-Chair of Christian CND said: “We are delighted to be welcoming our brothers and sisters from South Korea to London. Their pilgrimage is inspiring and should give us all hope for the future. Christian CND hopes this will be the start of a fruitful friendship.”
