The Trussell Trust has released a report revealing how coronavirus has affected food bank use, with a huge rise in people needing to use a food bank in its network for the first time.

The Trussell Trust's 2019 report reveal that the average weekly income people at food banks is only £50 after paying rent, and almost one in five have no money coming in at all in the month before being referred for emergency food.
Some Universal Credit claimants are left with as little as £20 per week to cover bills, food and other essential costs, Work and Pensions Committee finds.
