LGBT Catholics remember Soho bombing

By agency reporter
April 28, 2017

Sunday, 30 April 2017 marks the 18th anniversary of the London nail bomb attack on the Admiral Duncan public house in Old Compton Street, Soho. Three people lost their lives, Nik Moore, Andrea Dyke and John Light, as well as an unborn baby and around one hundred other people were injured.

It was that same weekend, in 1999, that Masses welcoming LGBT Catholics, parents, families and friends began in London. LGBT Catholics are inviting people to join them in remembering.

Representatives from Westminster Police, Westminster City Council and Westminster LGBT Community Forum, family members and survivors, will gather at St Anne's Gardens, Wardour Street, Soho W1D 6LB at 18.00 for a short commemorative service led by the Rev Simon Buckley, Rector of St. Anne's Church, Dean Street, Soho. The Diversity Choir will also take part. Afterwards some will return to the Admiral Duncan for drinks. Later the same evening, Pride in London are hosting an event in the Admiral Duncan.
